President Courtney Chapman has been in the drama club for 4 years now, along with assistant Matthew Barry. They hope the drama club will be left in good hands after they graduate in 2019.
The drama club was created to have a safe place to be able to express one’s inner feelings, without being judged, made fun of, or laughed at. The purpose of the club was to encourage students to be themselves and have fun. Anyone, of any grade, is welcomed to join. “Come have fun with us, we come together as a community and perform. We all just have a good time together” states Courtney. “Drama has helped me evolve into who i am today, definitely have come out of my shell because of drama.” says Matthew.
The drama club would like to have everyone in Desert involved, whether it be helping set up, auditions, donating, just anything. “Joining drama club has helped me make many new friends.” Courtney stated. The environment in drama club is very laid back and fun. Everyone is there to do nothing but to have fun.
Drama has meetings during the first 15 minutes of drama class. Also at lunch but that is just for officers. Please come support our fellow classmates in the drama club.
